Cherry Blossom 100 Year First Day of Issue Envelope
The U.S. Postal Service, through The National Cherry Blossom Festival, has released a commemorative "forever" stamp depicting the Jefferson Memorial as seen over the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC along with a 4-cent cherry blossom stamp that is dated September 28, 1960, and features the Washington Monument.
The stamps are placed upon a small, beautifully decorated envelope (please see photo) and post marked "Washington DC, March 24, 2012 (Zip code 20066)" and the words "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE."
This is truly a collector's item.
